| أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ {١} |
1. And removed from thee thy burden, |
| وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ {٢} |
2. Which weighed down thy back, |
| الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ {٣} |
3. And exalted for thee thy mention? |
| وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ {٤} |
4. Surely with difficulty is ease, |
| فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا {٥} |
5. With difficulty is surely ease, |
| إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا {٦} |
6. So when thou art free (from anxiety), work hard, |
| فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ {٧} |
7. And make thy Lord thy exclusive object. |
| وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ {٨} |
8. By the fig and the olive! |
