 |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ {١} |
1. Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ {٢} |
2. Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, |
| عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ {٣} |
3. Labouring (hard), weary,- |
| تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً {٤} |
4. The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- |
| تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ {٥} |
5. The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, |
| لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ {٦} |
6. No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari´ |
| لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ {٧} |
7. Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ {٨} |
8. (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, |
| لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. Pleased with their striving,- |
| فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ {١٠} |
10. In a Garden on high, |
| لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً {١١} |
11. Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: |
| فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ {١٢} |
12. Therein will be a bubbling spring: |
| فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ {١٣} |
13. Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, |
| وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ {١٤} |
14. Goblets placed (ready), |
| وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ {١٥} |
15. And cushions set in rows, |
| وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ {١٦} |
16. And rich carpets (all) spread out. |
| أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ {١٧} |
17. Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- |
| وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ {١٨} |
18. And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- |
| وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ {١٩} |
19. And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- |
| وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ {٢٠} |
20. And at the Earth, how it is spread out? |
| فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ {٢١} |
21. Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. |
| لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ {٢٢} |
22. Thou art not one to manage (men´s) affairs. |
| إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ {٢٣} |
23. But if any turn away and reject Allah,- |
| فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ {٢٤} |
24. Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, |
| إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ {٢٥} |
25. For to Us will be their return; |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ {٢٦} |
26. Then it will be for Us to call them to account. |
