 |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ {١} |
1. Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ {٢} |
2. Many a face will be disgraced on that day. |
| عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ {٣} |
3. Labouring, striving hard. |
| تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً {٤} |
4. (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. |
| تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ {٥} |
5. Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. |
| لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ {٦} |
6. There is no food for them except thorns of fire. |
| لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ {٧} |
7. Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ {٨} |
8. Many a face will be in serenity on that day. |
| لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. Rejoicing over their efforts. |
| فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ {١٠} |
10. In a high Garden. |
| لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً {١١} |
11. In which they will not hear any lewd speech. |
| فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ {١٢} |
12. In it is a flowing spring. |
| فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ {١٣} |
13. In which are high thrones. |
| وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ {١٤} |
14. And chosen goblets. |
| وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ {١٥} |
15. And arranged carpets. |
| وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ {١٦} |
16. And linen spread out. |
| أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ {١٧} |
17. So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? |
| وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ {١٨} |
18. And the heaven - how it has been raised? |
| وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ {١٩} |
19. And the mountains - how they have been established? |
| وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ {٢٠} |
20. And the earth - how it has been spread out? |
| فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ {٢١} |
21. Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) |
| لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ {٢٢} |
22. You are not at all a guardian over them. |
| إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ {٢٣} |
23. Except whoever turns away and disbelieves - |
| فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ {٢٤} |
24. So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. |
| إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ {٢٥} |
25. Indeed only towards Us is their return |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ {٢٦} |
26. Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. |
