 |
| وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ {١} |
1. Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), |
| الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ {٢} |
2. those who demand a full measure from others |
| وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ {٣} |
3. but when they measure or weigh, give less. |
| أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ {٤} |
4. Do they not realize that they will be resurrected |
| لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ {٥} |
5. on a great day |
| يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ {٦} |
6. when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? |
| كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ {٧} |
7. Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner´s deeds are in Sijin. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ {٨} |
8. Would that you knew what Sijin is!? |
| كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ {٩} |
9. It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {١٠} |
10. Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God´s revelations |
| الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ {١١} |
11. and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. |
| وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ {١٢} |
12. No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors |
| إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ {١٣} |
13. who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". |
| كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ {١٤} |
14. They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. |
| كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ {١٥} |
15. On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ {١٦} |
16. They will suffer the heat of fire |
| ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ {١٧} |
17. and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". |
| كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ {١٨} |
18. However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ {١٩} |
19. Would that you knew what Illiyin is! |
| كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ {٢٠} |
20. It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). |
| يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ {٢١} |
21. The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. |
| إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ {٢٢} |
22. The virtuous will live in bliss, |
| عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ {٢٣} |
23. reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). |
| تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ {٢٤} |
24. You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. |
| يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ {٢٥} |
25. They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers |
| خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ {٢٦} |
26. which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. |
| وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ {٢٧} |
27. With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, |
| عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ {٢٨} |
28. a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. |
| إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ {٢٩} |
29. The sinners had been laughing at the believers. |
| وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ {٣٠} |
30. When passing by them, they would wink at one another |
| وَإِذَا انْقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ {٣١} |
31. and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. |
| وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ {٣٢} |
32. On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". |
| وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ {٣٣} |
33. No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. |
| فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ {٣٤} |
34. On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers |
| عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ {٣٥} |
35. while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). |
| هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ {٣٦} |
36. Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? |
