 |
| وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا {١} |
1. By the angels who drag forth vehemently. |
| وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا {٢} |
2. By the angels who release with gentle release. |
| وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا {٣} |
3. By the angels who glide swimmingiy, |
| فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا {٤} |
4. And then they speed with foremost speed. |
| فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا {٥} |
5. And then they manage the affair, |
| يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ {٦} |
6. A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, |
| تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ {٧} |
7. And there will follow it the next blast. |
| قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ {٨} |
8. Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; |
| أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ {٩} |
9. Their looks will be downcast. |
| يَقُولُونَ أَإِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ {١٠} |
10. They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, |
| أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَةً {١١} |
11. When we have become bones decayed! |
| قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ {١٢} |
12. They say: that then shall be a losing return. |
| فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ {١٣} |
13. It will be only one scaring shout, |
| فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ {١٤} |
14. And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ {١٥} |
15. Hath there come Unto thee the story of Musa! |
| إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى {١٦} |
16. Recall what time his Lord called Unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. |
| اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ {١٧} |
17. Saying:´go thou Unto Fir´awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. |
| فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَىٰ أَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ {١٨} |
18. Then say thou: ´wouldst thou to be purified? |
| وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ {١٩} |
19. Then shall guide thee Unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. |
| فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ {٢٠} |
20. Then he shewed him the great sign. |
| فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ {٢١} |
21. Yet he belied and disobeyed. |
| ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ {٢٢} |
22. Then he turned back striving. |
| فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ {٢٣} |
23. Then he gathered and cried aloud, |
| فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ {٢٤} |
24. And he said: I am Your Lord, most high. |
| فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ {٢٥} |
25. Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. |
| إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ {٢٦} |
26. Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. |
| أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا {٢٧} |
27. Are ye harder to create or the heaven which He hath builded? |
| رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا {٢٨} |
28. He hath raised the height thereof and perfected it. |
| وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا {٢٩} |
29. And He made dark its night, and brought forth its sunshine. |
| وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا {٣٠} |
30. And the earth!- thereafter He stretched it out. |
| أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا {٣١} |
31. And he brought forth therefrom its water, and its pasture. |
| وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا {٣٢} |
32. And the mountains! - He established them firm: |
| مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ {٣٣} |
33. A provision for you and your cattle. |
| فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ {٣٤} |
34. Then when the Grand Calamity shall come |
| يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ {٣٥} |
35. The Day whereon man shall rember whatsoever he had striven for. |
| وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَىٰ {٣٦} |
36. And the Scorch will be made apparent to any one who beholdeth. |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَىٰ {٣٧} |
37. Then as for him who waxed exorbitant, |
| وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا {٣٨} |
38. And who chose the life of the world, |
| فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ {٣٩} |
39. Verily the Scorch! that shall be his resort. |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ {٤٠} |
40. And as for him who dreaded standing before his Lord, and restrained his soul from lust, |
| فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ {٤١} |
41. Verily the Garden! -that shall be his resort. |
| يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا {٤٢} |
42. They question thee of the Hour:´when will its arrival be? |
| فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا {٤٣} |
43. Wherein art thou concerred with the declaration thereof! |
| إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا {٤٤} |
44. Unto thy Lord is the Knowledge of the limit fixed therefor. |
| إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَاهَا {٤٥} |
45. Thou art but a warner Unto him who feareth. |
| كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا {٤٦} |
46. On the Day whereon they behold it, it will appear to them as though they had not tarried save an evening or the morn thereof. |
