| عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ {١} |
1. What do they quarrel about? |
| عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ {٢} |
2. They quarrel about the great news |
| الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ {٣} |
3. concerning which they have disputes. |
| كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ {٤} |
4. (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). |
| ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ {٥} |
5. Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. |
| أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا {٦} |
6. Have We not made the earth as a place to rest |
| وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا {٧} |
7. and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? |
| وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا {٨} |
8. Have We not created you in pairs, |
| وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا {٩} |
9. made sleep for you to rest, |
| وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا {١٠} |
10. made the night as a covering, |
| وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا {١١} |
11. and the day as time for you to make a living? |
| وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا {١٢} |
12. Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, |
| وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا {١٣} |
13. (the sun) as a shining torch |
| وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا {١٤} |
14. and sent down heavy rains from the clouds |
| لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا {١٥} |
15. to make the seeds, plants, |
| وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا {١٦} |
16. and thick gardens grow? |
| إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا {١٧} |
17. The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. |
| يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا {١٨} |
18. On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. |
| وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا {١٩} |
19. The heavens will have openings like doors. |
| وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا {٢٠} |
20. The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. |
| إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا {٢١} |
21. Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). |
| لِلطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا {٢٢} |
22. It will be a place of return |
| لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا {٢٣} |
23. for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. |
| لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا {٢٤} |
24. They will not feel cold nor taste any drink |
| إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا {٢٥} |
25. except boiling water and pus, |
| جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا {٢٦} |
26. as a fitting recompense for their deeds. |
| إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا {٢٧} |
27. They did not expect such a Judgment |
| وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا {٢٨} |
28. and persistently rejected Our revelations. |
| وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا {٢٩} |
29. However, We have recorded everything in a book. |
| فَذُوقُوا فَلَنْ نَزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا {٣٠} |
30. (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". |
| إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا {٣١} |
31. The pious ones will be triumphant. |
| حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا {٣٢} |
32. They will have gardens and vineyards, |
| وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا {٣٣} |
33. maidens with pears-shaped breasts who are of equal age (to their spouses) |
| وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا {٣٤} |
34. and cups full of wine. |
| لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا {٣٥} |
35. They will not hear therein any unnecessary words or lies. |
| جَزَاءً مِنْ رَبِّكَ عَطَاءً حِسَابًا {٣٦} |
36. This will be their reward from your Lord, a favor from Him and a recompense for their deeds. |
| رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا {٣٧} |
37. He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He is the Beneficent God and no one will be able to address Him. |
| يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا {٣٨} |
38. On that day, the Spirit and the angels who stand in lines will not speak except those whom the Beneficent God has permitted, and he will speak the right words. |
| ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ مَآبًا {٣٩} |
39. That will be the Day of the Truth. So let those who want seek refuge from their Lord. |
| إِنَّا أَنْذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنْظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ تُرَابًا {٤٠} |
40. We have warned you of the approaching torment. On that day, a person will see what his hands have committed. A disbeliever will say, "Would that I had been dust". |
