 |
| وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا {١} |
1. I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, |
| فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا {٢} |
2. And those that strike violently, |
| وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا {٣} |
3. And those that revive by quickening, |
| فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا {٤} |
4. And those that distinguish distinctly, |
| فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا {٥} |
5. And those that bring down the Reminder |
| عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا {٦} |
6. To end all argument or to warn. |
| إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ {٧} |
7. What is promised will surely come to pass. |
| فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ {٨} |
8. When the stars are obliterated, |
| وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ {٩} |
9. The heavens split asunder, |
| وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ {١٠} |
10. The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, |
| وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ {١١} |
11. And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- |
| لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ {١٢} |
12. For what day is that time fixed? |
| لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ {١٣} |
13. The Day of Judgement. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ {١٤} |
14. How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {١٥} |
15. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ {١٦} |
16. Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? |
| ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ {١٧} |
17. So shall We make the later ones to follow them. |
| كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ {١٨} |
18. That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {١٩} |
19. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| أَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ {٢٠} |
20. Did We not create you from contemptible water? |
| فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ {٢١} |
21. Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) |
| إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَعْلُومٍ {٢٢} |
22. For a certain appointed time, |
| فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ {٢٣} |
23. Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٢٤} |
24. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا {٢٥} |
25. Have We not made the earth a repository |
| أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا {٢٦} |
26. For the living and the dead, |
| وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَاءً فُرَاتًا {٢٧} |
27. And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٢٨} |
28. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ {٢٩} |
29. "Go to what you used to deny; |
| انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ {٣٠} |
30. Go to the shadow with three ramifications, |
| لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ {٣١} |
31. Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. |
| إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ {٣٢} |
32. It will throw out sparks as logs of wood |
| كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ {٣٣} |
33. So like golden camels." |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٣٤} |
34. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُونَ {٣٥} |
35. They will not be able to speak that day, |
| وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ {٣٦} |
36. Nor given leave to make excuses. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٣٧} |
37. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ {٣٨} |
38. That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). |
| فَإِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ {٣٩} |
39. So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٠} |
40. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ {٤١} |
41. Those who take heed for themselves and fear God, will be amidst shade and springs of water, |
| وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ {٤٢} |
42. And such fruits as they desire. |
| كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ {٤٣} |
43. "Eat and drink with relish as reward for what you had done." |
| إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ {٤٤} |
44. That is how We reward the good. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٥} |
45. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ {٤٦} |
46. Eat and enjoy for a while: You are certainly sinners. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٧} |
47. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ {٤٨} |
48. When it is said to them: "Bow in homage," they do not bow. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٩} |
49. Alas the woe that day for those who deny! |
| فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ {٥٠} |
50. In what other lore after this will they then believe? |
