 |
| إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ {١} |
1. When/if the battle/Resurrection/event fell/happened . |
| لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ {٢} |
2. (There) is not to its falling/happening a liar/deniance/falsehood. |
| خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ {٣} |
3. Lowering/reducing, raising/removing away. |
| إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا {٤} |
4. When/if the earth/Planet Earth trembled and quaked , trembling and quaking . |
| وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا {٥} |
5. And the mountains was crumbled/scattered , crumbling/scattering . |
| فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُنْبَثًّا {٦} |
6. So it was dust scattered/distributed . |
| وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً {٧} |
7. And you were three kinds . |
| فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ {٨} |
8. So owners/company/friends (of) the blessing/right (hand), (are) owners/company/friends (of) the blessing/right (hand)! |
| وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ {٩} |
9. And owners/company/friends (of) the bad omen/left side/misfortune , (are) owners/company/ friends (of) the bad/omen/left side/misfortune . |
| وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ {١٠} |
10. And the racing/surpassing , (are) the racing/surpassing . |
| أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ {١١} |
11. Those are the neared/closer. |
| فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ {١٢} |
12. In treed gardens/paradises (of) the comfort and ease . |
| ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ {١٣} |
13. A group from the first/beginners. |
| وَقَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ {١٤} |
14. And little/few from the others/lasts . |
| عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَوْضُونَةٍ {١٥} |
15. On royal beds/sofas lightly woven . |
| مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ {١٦} |
16. Leaning/reclining on it, facing each other. |
| يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ {١٧} |
17. Immortal/eternal children/boys circle/walk around on them. |
| بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ {١٨} |
18. With cups and jugs and a cup/wine flowing easily and plentifully. |
| لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنْزِفُونَ {١٩} |
19. They do not get headache from it, and nor they be drunk/exhausted . |
| وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ {٢٠} |
20. And fruits from what they prefer/choose. |
| وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ {٢١} |
21. And bird`s meat from what they desire . |
| وَحُورٌ عِينٌ {٢٢} |
22. And eyes with intense blackness of pupils and whiteness (beautifully contrasted). |
| كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ {٢٣} |
23. As/like similar/equal (to) the pearls, the covered/protected. |
| جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ {٢٤} |
24. Reimbursement because (of) what they were making/doing . |
| لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا {٢٥} |
25. They do not hear/listen (to) nonsense/senseless talk in it, and nor sinning/committing crimes. |
| إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا {٢٦} |
26. Except little : "Greeting/peace ." (And): "Greeting/peace ." |
| وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ {٢٧} |
27. And the right (hand`s) owners/company/friends, (are) the right (hand`s) owners/company/friends! . |
| فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ {٢٨} |
28. In bent over/thornless/ripe sedre/a lote tree. |
| وَطَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ {٢٩} |
29. And acacia/bananas , neatly piled over each other . |
| وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ {٣٠} |
30. And shade expanded/spread. |
| وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ {٣١} |
31. And poured continuously water . |
| وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ {٣٢} |
32. And many/much fruits. |
| لَا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ {٣٣} |
33. Not cut off/severed , and nor prohibited/forbidden . |
| وَفُرُشٍ مَرْفُوعَةٍ {٣٤} |
34. And raised spreads/beds. |
| إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً {٣٥} |
35. We (E) created/originated them (F) creation/origination . |
| فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا {٣٦} |
36. So We created/made them (F) first borns/virgins. |
| عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا {٣٧} |
37. Humorous (amusing) same age/not aging. |
| لِأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ {٣٨} |
38. To the right (hand`s) owners/friends/company. |
| ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ {٣٩} |
39. A group from the first/beginners. |
| وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ {٤٠} |
40. And a group from the others/lasts . |
| وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ {٤١} |
41. And the left (hand`s) owners/friends/company, (are) the left (hand`s) owners/friends/company ! . |
| فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ {٤٢} |
42. In severe hot wind , and hot water/red hot coal . |
| وَظِلٍّ مِنْ يَحْمُومٍ {٤٣} |
43. And shade from black smoke . |
| لَا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ {٤٤} |
44. Not cool/cold, and nor hospitable/kind . |
| إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ {٤٥} |
45. That they truly were before that luxuriated, ungrateful and arrogant. |
| وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنْثِ الْعَظِيمِ {٤٦} |
46. And they were persisting/insisting on the sin the great. |
| وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ {٤٧} |
47. And they were saying: "Is (it that) if we died, and we were dust/earth and bones, are we being resurrected/revived?" |
| أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ {٤٨} |
48. Or (are) our fathers the first/beginners? |
| قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ {٤٩} |
49. Say: "That truly the first/beginners and the lasts/others ." |
| لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ {٥٠} |
50. Are being gathered/collected (E) to a known day`s appointed time . |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ {٥١} |
51. Then, that you are, you the misguided, the liars/deniers/falsifiers. |
| لَآكِلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مِنْ زَقُّومٍ {٥٢} |
52. Eating exaggerated/gluttons (E) from trees from deadly food. |
| فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ {٥٣} |
53. So you are filling from it the bellies/insides. |
| فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ {٥٤} |
54. So you are drinking on it from the hot water/red hot coal. |
| فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ {٥٥} |
55. So you are drinking the extreme thirst`s drink . |
| هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ {٥٦} |
56. That (is) their places of descent (on) the Judgment Day/Resurrection Day . |
| نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ {٥٧} |
57. We created you, so if only you believe Me. |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تُمْنُونَ {٥٨} |
58. Did you see/understand what you ejaculate/discharge semen/sperm? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ {٥٩} |
59. Do you create it? Or We are the creators? |
| نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ {٦٠} |
60. We predestined between you the death/lifelessness, and We are not with being surpassed/preceded . |
| عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنْشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ {٦١} |
61. On that We exchange/replace similar/equal to you, and We create/originate you in what you do not know. |
| وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ {٦٢} |
62. And you had (E) known the creation/origination , the first/beginning, so if only you mention/remember ? |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ {٦٣} |
63. Did you see/understand what you cultivate/plant ? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ {٦٤} |
64. Do you sow/seed/cultivate it ? Or We are the sowers/seeders/cultivators?401 |
| لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ {٦٥} |
65. If We willed/wanted We would have made it debris/crumbs , so you continued/remained regretting/wondering. |
| إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ {٦٦} |
66. That We, We are in burdensome debt/loss (E) . |
| بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ {٦٧} |
67. But We are deprived. |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ {٦٨} |
68. Did you see/understand the water which you drink? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ {٦٩} |
69. Did you descend it from the rain/clouds ? Or We are the descenders? |
| لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ {٧٠} |
70. If We will/want We made it salty and bitter, so if only you thank/be grateful. |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ {٧١} |
71. Did you see/understand the fire which you strike/ignite? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْشِئُونَ {٧٢} |
72. Did you create its trees? Or We are the creators/originators ? |
| نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ {٧٣} |
73. We made it a reminder and a long life/enjoyment to the hungry/starving . |
| فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ {٧٤} |
74. So praise/glorify with your Lord`s name, the great. |
| فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ {٧٥} |
75. So I do not (many translations disagree on the use of the negative in this verse it could possibly mean emphasis) swear/make oath with the stars`/planets` positions . |
| وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ {٧٦} |
76. And that it truly is an oath (E), if you know (it is) great. |
| إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ {٧٧} |
77. That it truly (is) a Koran (E) , honoured . |
| فِي كِتَابٍ مَكْنُونٍ {٧٨} |
78. In a Book , protected/covered. |
| لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ {٧٩} |
79. None touches it except the pure/clean . |
| تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ {٨٠} |
80. Descant from the creations all together`s/(universes`) Lord. |
| أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنْتُمْ مُدْهِنُونَ {٨١} |
81. So is it with this, the information/speech, you are greasing/cheating ? |
| وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ {٨٢} |
82. And you make/put your provision that you are lying/denying . |
| فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ {٨٣} |
83. So if only that the throat/pharynx (the death) reached. |
| وَأَنْتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنْظُرُونَ {٨٤} |
84. And you are at that time looking/watching . |
| وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ {٨٥} |
85. And We are nearer/closer to it than you, and but you do not see/understand . |
| فَلَوْلَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ {٨٦} |
86. So if only if you were not indebted. |
| تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ {٨٧} |
87. You return it (the life), if you were truthful. |
| فَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ {٨٨} |
88. So but if he was from the neared/closer. |
| فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ {٨٩} |
89. So a happiness/rest/mercy, and basil/fragrant plants, and treed gardens/paradises, and comfort and ease (is for him). |
| وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ {٩٠} |
90. But/as for if (he) was from the right (hand`s) owners/company/friends. |
| فَسَلَامٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ {٩١} |
91. So greeting/peace (is) for you from the right (hands`) owners/company/friends. |
| وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ {٩٢} |
92. And but/as for if (he) was from the liars/deniers/falsifiers, the misguided. |
| فَنُزُلٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ {٩٣} |
93. So a place of descent from hot water/red hot coal . |
| وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ {٩٤} |
94. And Hell`s roasting/suffering . |
| إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ {٩٥} |
95. That truly that it is (E) true , the assurance/certainty. |
| فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ {٩٦} |
96. So praise/glorify with your Lord`s name, the great.402 |
