| قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ {١} | 1. (Muhammad), say, "I seek protection from the Lord of the Dawn |
| مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ {٢} | 2. against the evil of whatever He has created. |
| وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ {٣} | 3. I seek His protection against the evil of the invading darkness, |
| وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ {٤} | 4. from the evil of those who practice witchcraft |
| وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ {٥} | 5. and from the evil of the envious ones. |
