| تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ {١} | 1. May both hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and are ruined are they! |
| مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ {٢} | 2. His wealth has not availed him, nor his gains. |
| سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ {٣} | 3. He will enter a flaming Fire to roast; |
| وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ {٤} | 4. And (with him) his wife, carrier of firewood (and of evil tales and slander), |
| فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ {٥} | 5. Around her neck will be a halter of strongly twisted rope. |
