| أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ {١} |
1. Have you considered how your Lord dealt with the people of the Elephant? |
| أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ {٢} |
2. Did He not bring their evil scheme to nothing? |
| وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ {٣} |
3. He sent down upon them flocks of birds (unknown in the land), |
| تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ {٤} |
4. Shooting them with bullet-like stones of baked clay (an emblem of the punishment due to them), |
| فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ {٥} |
5. And so He rendered them like a field of grain devoured and trampled. |
