 |
| وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ {١} |
1. Woe to every slanderous scandal-monger and backbiter, |
| الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ {٢} |
2. Who collects wealth and counts it. |
| يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ {٣} |
3. He thinks that his wealth can immortalize him. |
| كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ {٤} |
4. Not so! He shall be hurled into El´Hutamah! |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ {٥} |
5. Ah, what shall make you understand what El´Hutamah is? |
| نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ {٦} |
6. The Fire by Allah kindled; |
| الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ {٧} |
7. Which leaps into the heart. |
| إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ {٨} |
8. Lo! It closes in as a vault on them |
| فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ {٩} |
9. In outstretched columns. |
