| أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ {١} |
1. Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you |
| حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ {٢} |
2. Until ye come to the graves. |
| كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ {٣} |
3. Nay, but ye will come to know! |
| ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ {٤} |
4. Nay, but ye will come to know! |
| كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ {٥} |
5. Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! |
| لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ {٦} |
6. For ye will behold hell-fire. |
| ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ {٧} |
7. Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. |
| ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ {٨} |
8. Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. |
