| أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ {١} |
1. The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, |
| حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ {٢} |
2. Until ye visit the graves. |
| كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ {٣} |
3. Lo! presently ye shall know. |
| ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ {٤} |
4. Again lo! presently ye shall know. |
| كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ {٥} |
5. Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! |
| لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ {٦} |
6. Surely ye shall behold theScorch. |
| ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ {٧} |
7. Then ye shall surely beholdwith the surety of vision. |
| ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ {٨} |
8. Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. |
