| الْقَارِعَةُ {١} |
1. The calamity! |
| مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٢} |
2. What is the calamity? |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٣} |
3. And what will convey to you what the calamity is? |
| يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ {٤} |
4. The day when men shall be like scattered moths; |
| وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ {٥} |
5. And the mountains shall be like flocks of carded wool! |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٦} |
6. And as for him whose balance is heavy, |
| فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ {٧} |
7. He shall be in a well-pleasing life. |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٨} |
8. But as for him whose balance is light, |
| فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. His mother will be the Bereft and Hungry One. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ {١٠} |
10. And who shall convey to you what she is? - |
| نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ {١١} |
11. A raging fire! |
